Lauzon

Green is a fundamental value at Lauzon, and we have been committed to responsible and sustainable practices since our inception.

We own and manage forest land spanning two million acres in the Outaouais region of Quebec. Our Canadian maple and red oak floors have the shortest carbon path in the industry due to  our integration and close proximity. Our sound forest management is based on a 25-year harvest cycle. To promote the growth of young shoots we reap less than 30% of the trees within an area of 2.5 acres. This fallow cultivation method and gardening process allows younger, more vigorous trees to grow, keeping the forest in better condition for generations to come.

Our environmental management practices are ISO 14001 certified. This includes the assessment of ecological impact plus ongoing actions to improve our environmental record.

Schönox

Since the implementation of our integrated management systems, we have recorded major success in respect of environmental protection. Today, product-integrated environmental protection and a more and more energy-efficient production process take centre stage in our activities. Environmental protection in Schönox focuses on:

  • preventive environmental protection;

  • saving resources (raw materials, energy and water); and

  • waste avoidance.

Quick•Step

QUICK•STEP® HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GREEN CHOICE

We’re constantly seeking new ways to recycle, reduce, reuse, recover and renew at every step of the manufacturing process. Our U.S.-produced laminate boards are made of 74% preconsumer recycled wood fibers and chips from sustainable sources. Not one exotic tree is harvested to create our beautiful exotic floors. Rather than sent to the landfill, rejected products are integrated into our chipboard factory or reused by third-party manufacturers. Our patented locking system eliminates the introduction of VOCs typically associated with installation adhesives. And all Quick•Step® floors are California 93120 Phase 2 compliant for formaldehyde emissions and comply with all CARB (California Air Resource Board) requirements. When you’re ready for a change, it’s easy to unclick, remove and reuse our floors somewhere else or donate them to your favorite charity... Välinge Flooring

A greener, smarter and more efficient way to make a real wood floor

 A real wood floor — ingrained with true innovation. We’ve created a product that rips up the rulebook of how a real wood floor performs. Using a selection of technologies developed by our parent company, Välinge Innovation, our Hardened Wood Floors combine the feel and beauty that only genuine wood possesses, but with durability and liveability traditionally absent from a real wood floor. Stress-free installation, waterproof, incredible impact protection, modern extra large dimensions, and gentle on the environment — it’s a real wood floor, made wonderful.

A more sustainable alternative. The patented Woodura® surface technology means using fewer trees for more wood. A lot more. In fact, by using sliced instead of sawn wood, like traditional engineered or solid wood flooring, Woodura® allows for ten times more flooring to be produced from the same amount of lumber. Our raw material comes from responsibly managed forests where the wood is processed locally — a sustainable way of harvesting and producing that ensures the forest will be there to enjoy for generations to come
